Working with a Buyer's Agent is the Smartest Decision You'll Ever Make

Buying a home is one of the largest financial decisions/purchases you’ll likely ever make. Why take this journey alone? Sure, there’s loads of information on the Internet, and you think to yourself, “yes, I’m smart, I have good judgment, I can do this.” But, real estate is a unique industry and having a trusted partner by your side will ensure you end up satisfied and with a good investment.

Here are the benefits of using a Buyer’s Agent:

1.     Experience – Buying a home can be complex and stressful. Plus, it requires dozens of forms, reports, disclosures, and other technical documents. Buyer’s agents can help you navigate through this and bring their many years of experience to bear.

2.     Searching Power -- We all know the Internet is amazing, and we can find many listings to review. But buyer’s agents have access to even more listings. Homes that aren’t quite on the market yet or not actively being advertised. These hidden gems may be just the home you want.

3.     Negotiation Skills – Today’s housing market is especially heated, and competition ican be fierce. Having an expert on your side to negotiate the best offer may be the only way you can win. Plus, a buyer’s agent will draw up a purchase agreement that gives you enough time for inspections, contingencies, and anything else you need.

4.     Ethics – When using a buyer’s agent, be certain they are also a Realtor. Realtors, members of the National Association of Realtors, are the largest trade group in the country, and they adhere to a strict code of ethics and are held to higher standards than other licensed agents. These standards protect you as a home buyer.

5.     Professional Connections – When buying a home, chances are good that you will need to also be connected to many other professionals: mortgage brokers, home inspectors, interior designers, painters, roofers, etc. Buyer’s agents are well connected and can recommend reliable professionals that can help you expedite the home buying process.

6.     Partner – You need an experienced professional on your side, especially if the transaction hits a roadblock during inspection or appraisal. Your buyer’s agent wears many different hats: they are available nearly all hours of the day to be your data analyst, therapist, and partner all rolled into one!
